What are some virtuoso piano pieces that are harmonious and elegant?

I'm trying to find a piece that really catches my ear and I keep thinking of something along those lines. I'm just looking for some examples of ones you feel are so.

Flowing, but not with a lot of runs. Harmonious, but with a good level technical skill involved. Elegant, but not "masking"... if that makes any sense to anyone else.

Any youtube links would be wonderful. Thank you in advanced.|||Some of the following are not the typical fast-tempo showpiece, some are.

The Poulenc Nocturnes, fluid, beautiful writing, and not at all easy, requiring really, a virtuoso to perform well. Of Varying character ( some more agitated and abstract ) the first of the eight surely fits the requirement. The type of more 'quiet' virtuosity is, generally, lost on most audiences: the majority listed are overtly 'wow can they play the piano' pieces. [ the list stays to a handful of French works. ]

Francis Poulenc ~ Nocturne No. 1 (quiet virtuosity)

Bojan_Bozovic gave you an excellent suggestion for Ravel's Tombeau de Couperin.

Maurice Ravel:

Tombeau de Couperin; Prelude: (overt virtuosity)

other Ravel:

Jeux d'eau [Alfred Cortot called this piece "Liquid Poetry."] (overt virtuosity)

Miroirs: II - Oiseaux Tristes (both quiet and overt virtuosity)

and from the subject of Ravel's above 'Tombeau' tribute, a brilliant virtuoso tour-de-force piece, rapid staccato, and detached delivery, yet 'flowing' and lyric.

Fran莽ois Couperin ~ Le Tic Toc Choc (overt virtuosity)

Claude Debussy:

Estampes; III Jardins sous la pluie (overt virtuosity)

Images; I - Reflets dans l'eau (quiet virtuosity)

A more overt showpiece by Debussy, beginning with a wild sort of cadenza, then soon waxing toward grand and lyric gesture....

L'isle Joyeaux (overt virtuosity)

Best regards.|||There are probably hundreds of gorgeous pieces that match your description, but these are just a few of my favorites:

Liszt's "Un Sospiro" (Concert Etude No. 3) Beautiful, elegant, flowing, and rather hard technically.

Debussy's Estampes Pagodes. Flows like clear water, harmonious and elegant with a touch of the Orient. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjBrR7mc4鈥?/a>

Debussy's Masques: So elegant and exotic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr3by6Xtn鈥?/a>

Chopin Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2-- Gorgeous, flowing piece. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvxS_bJ0y鈥?/a>

And of course, there's Chopin's Ballade No. 1. Possibly the deepest, most virtuostic, and most brilliant piece written. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RR7eUSFsn鈥?/a>

Good luck!|||LPol up vitamin string courtet it's nit piano but it's really good... My teacher always plays them... Its like songs that they would play on the radio but in strings...
