How to detect elegant fonts used in webpages and installed them if unavailable?

I want to use javascript for detecting some elegant fonts which I am using in my web page.What I want to do is, when user open web page having elegant fonts, if not installed in users computer, it must show the alternate font, but to make it installed by asking with pop-up window, and then continue to installed that font for user.Can u please tell me the javascript/css code for it or how to do it.|||The scripts I've seen that do this rely on using the width of the text when it is rendered.
