How can I decorate a family/ playroom in an ELEGANT circus theme?

I have found a couple vintage french circus posters as my inspiration but am wondering about fabrics. I want the room to be used for adults as well (large flat screen for movies, antique card table, etc...) but it's really mainly going to be my 4 year old daughter's playroom. I want it fun but elegant french circus theme.. Any suggestions?|||well, if u want it 2 be elegant, then 4 the couch, don't get an ugly print, stay with a solid color. same thing with the curtains, the rug, etc. u should have accent features of circus animals, like the posters, stuffed animals, maybe a mural on the wall with a circus tent, or a monkey on a unicycle. i don't really know how to put it into words, but i would just keep solid colors with furniture and such, and i would use accent circus items. well, good luck!|||Go with solid colors and patterns for most of the rest of the room. Purchase quilts, and put up wallpaper with a beautiful French pattern. Use the theme only for small items around the room - like the posters, a small carousel statue, a masque on the wall, or even a "trapeze swing" in the corner for your daughter if you can manage to hardwire it into the wall. Stack embroidered pillows around it, and have a small bookshelf with books like Babar for her to read on the swing. Use curtains that are transparent and have a light and easy feel to them.

Use pastel but contemporary colors - pale reds, olive greens, aubergine, etc. Use the colors on the posters for inspiration.|||if you want the walls painted, call in a professional to pain nice circus scenes in soft colores. if there are going to be books, sometimes you can find book "proppers" in the shape of circus themes. get a coffee table with a circus scene on it. good luck!
